Sub-station Interface Unit

N-8000RS

The N-8000RS is a Sub-station interface unit designed for use with TOA's packet intercom system (IP network-compatible intercom system) that employs the packet audio technology. Up to 16 sub-stations can be connected using 2-core shielded cables. The number of LAN-connected N-8000 system components such as the N-8000RS and IP intercom exchanges is 192 maximum in total. Connecting the unit to the LAN permits the sub-station to receive paging calls and make calls to both the master station connected to the IP intercom exchange and the IP master station.
It can be mounted in an EIA equipment rack (1U size) with the use of an accessory rack mounting bracket or installed on a wall using an optional wall mounting bracket.

Optional Accessory

The sub station interface unit is designed for use with TOA's packet intercom system (IP network compatible intercom system) that employs the packet audio technology and can be connected to an existing local area network (LAN) or wide-area network (WAN).
Network shall be made possible using RJ45 connection via a switching hub. Network interface shall be I/F 10BASE-T/100BASE-TX (Automatic-Negotiation) Auto MDI/MDI-X compatible Network Protocol TCP/IP, UDP, ARP, ICMP, HTTP, RTP, IGMP.
The sub station interface unit shall have 16 contacts with removable plugs at the rear of the unit for the purpose of connecting up to 16 sub-stations using 2-core shielded cables.
By connecting the unit to a LAN via its RJ45 connector permits the sub station interface unit to receive paging calls and make calls to both the master station connected to the IP exchange and the IP master station with 2 speech paths. Up to 192 interface units and IP intercom exchanges (mixed) can be achieved by LAN connection.
The sub station interface unit shall have indication lamps on the front panel displaying: LNK/ACT lights green when connected to a network and flashes while transmitting or receiving data. STATUS continuously lights red while data is written to an internal storage medium. POWER lights green when power is supplied to the unit. There shall be a RESET key on the front panel to reactivate the unit.
The sub station interface unit shall include dedicated software that will enable centralised control, log verification and system maintenance from a personal computer. Line supervision can also be performed using a personal computer and internet browser.
Power requirements shall be 220 – 240V AC.
It shall use only one EIA component rack space and its dimensions shall be 420 (W)
× 44.3 (H) × 325.5 (D) mm (16.54" × 1.74" × 12.81") Weight shall be 3.9 kg (8.6lb.)
and finished in black pre-coated steel plate. Alternatively, the unit can be wall mounted.
Optional extras: YC-850 wall mounting bracket manufactured by TOA Corporation.
